As part of the Genomic Medicine National Research Program (GMNRP), the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center (NSRRC) is constructing the high-throughput biological crystallography beamline BL13B. This beamline is designed from the center of a superconducting multipoles wiggler, which will be installed in 2004. Moreover, this beamline will deliver photon energies from 6.5 keV to 19 keV with the flux through a 100 µm diameter pinhole being greater than 1011 photons/sec for performing multi-wavelength anomalous diffraction (MAD), single-wavelength anomalous diffraction (SAD), and other related experiments.
The conceptual designs of this beamline has been completed, and reviewed by an international beamline review committee formed by nine worldwide experts. The beamline and end-station are currently under construction. Also this beamline will be ready for commission by 2005.
